HARPSICHORD AVAILABLE FOR HIRE |
|
Patrick Chevalier (Atelier de la Grande Maison), French double manual harpsichord, 1986 FF - f''', 2 x 8', 1 x 4', transposing A = 415 to A = 440hz. Newly requilled in celcon. This instrument is available for hire for concerts and recordings in South Florida. In 2009, it has been used by Richard Egarr and the Academy of Ancient Music for a performance of the Brandenburg Concertos at Spivey Hall, and by the Dearmas Duo and Steven Rickards' group "Echoing Air" for concerts in Coconut Grove. Even though Patrick Chevalier passed away in the 1990s, his instruments are still much in demand for recordings; for instance, Patrick Chevalier instruments were used most recently by Jocelyne Cuiller (Reveries for Connoisseurs & Amateurs, Fuga Libera 2008) and Olivier Fortin (La Pantomime DVD with Skip Sempe, Paradizo, 2008). Perhaps the best known recordings made on a Chevalier French double like this one are those of the first two books of Duphly's Pièces de Clavecin by Yannick le Gaillard in 1988. For more information about Chevalier's instruments see Jean-Joël Duhot, "Patrick Chevalier et les clavecins de la Grande Maison" in Flûte à Bec & Instruments Anciens, N° 19, Septembre 1986. |
